WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Our Division of Regional Models and geo-hydrological impacts (REMHI), located in Caserta, is looking for a Climate & Weather Model Research Assistant to support the REMHI Division's research activities in the field of climate simulations and in the framework of various national and international activities currently ongoing.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Atmospheric and Climate Sciences (or equivalent); Good knowledge of the English language; Knowledge of the main numerical algorithms for solving: Linear Systems of Equations, Systems of Nonlinear Equations, Ordinary Differential Equations; Knowledge of common operating systems (Windows, MacOS); Knowledge and capability to use the Main Mathematical Libraries; Knowledge of FORTRAN and other programming languages such as MATLAB and Python; Knowledge of the Linux operating system; Knowledge of the SAP database; Knowledge of climate data management programs (e. g. , CDO, NCO); Capability to prepare technical/scientific documentation, also in the context of projects; Availability to travel (limited periods); Availability to participate in face-to-face meetings at the REMHI headquarters in Caserta; Enthusiasm for research and working within a young and multidisciplinary team. ADDITIONAL SKILLS: Good communication skills; Problem-solving attitude; High motivation to learn; Good time and priority management; Ability to meet deadlines. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The appointment period will be initially for 12 months, starting as soon as possible, renewable for additional months pending a positive evaluation. Tenure can be granted from 2 to 4 years after being appointed as a junior researcher; The gross annual salary range is from 17 to 24 K Euros, depending on qualification and working experience; Private health care coverage; Welfare package; Possibility to access flexible working time as per internal policies; Support during the immigration process, if needed.
