We are now embarking on a new chapter of our journey that will further boost CMCC's global position in climate change research…Together!ROLEThe Researcher in Risk and Resilience Assessment reports to the RAAS Division Director and is responsible for research on risk and resilience assessment and modelling, with a specific focus on marine and coastal ecosystems and nature-based solution adaptation planning. RESPONSIBILITIESDevelopment and application of multi-risk assessment methodologies to analyze the effect of climate change-related impacts on marine and coastal ecosystems. Design and execution of monitoring frameworks and plans, including the collection, analysis, and interpretation of environmental data, staying updated with advancements in monitoring technologies, environmental regulations, and best practices. Writing and managing EU projects and tenders' proposals. Contribution to scientific publication activities and dissemination actions. Drafting of scientific reports and technical documentation related to the developed solutions. Participation in internal knowledge sharing and contribute to the team's collective expertise. Stay up to date with the latest multi-risk related research, tools, and techniques, and apply cutting-edge methodologies to climate risk problems. REQUIREMENTSPhD in environmental science, environmental engineering, science and management of Climate Change or equivalent subjects. Previous experience in conducting risk and climate change impact assessment, familiarity with research methods and literature on multi-risk assessment, climate risk management, climate change adaptation and resilience. Previous experience in project management and acquisition of research funds. Quantitative skills (including GIS, handling of climate datasets in R, Python or other software environment). Excellent knowledge of the English language. Good communication skills and teamworking attitude. DURATION, COMPENSATION BENEFITSPlease note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally. The Researcher will be based in Venice CMCC office. The appointment period will be initially of 12 months starting from early 2025; contract and gross annual salary will be based on qualifications and working experience. Welfare package. Flexible working time as per internal policies. Support during the immigration process, if needed. PROTECTED CATEGORYBelonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition. Some fiscal benefits could be applied for repatriated workers or foreign researchers/professors, having the requirements defined by Dlgs 147/2015 (for repatriates) or Dl 78/2010 (for foreigners).
