**ROLE
The selected researcher reports to the EIEE Director and is responsible for the activities described below.
**RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for talented researchers with expertise in one of the 10 research areas of.
As we expand our research activities around climate change and biodiversity we look for competencies in:
- Geo-spatial econometrics/statistical analysis
- Deep learning and machine learning
- Survey and experimental methods
- Computational modeling (CGE; ABM; etc)
- Ex-post and ex-ante policy assessment
These skills will be applied to address the climate and biodiversity crises through rigorous analytical work.
We have a large portfolio of projects covering climate and biodiversity economics and are expanding towards new areas (such as critical minerals, energy adaptation, political economy, climate AI, industrial policy, health, migration etc.
).
**REQUIREMENTS
- We are looking for two or more motivated persons with the following requirements:
- PhD in economics, applied mathematics, or related fields.
- Proven research skills and scientific research productivity
- Programming capacity in either GAMS, R, Python, or similar.
- Fluency in English (Italian not needed), good presentation and writing skills.
- Willingness to travel to project meetings and to conferences.
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and diverse environment committed to high-quality research.
**DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- The appointment period will be for 2 years, renewable for two additional years pending a positive evaluation.
Tenure can be granted from 2 to 4 years after being appointed as a Junior Scientist.
- The gross annual salary will be based on qualification and working experience and competitive with major research centers in Europe.

**PROTECTED CATEGORY
Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.
Some fiscal benefits could be applied for repatriated workers or foreign researchers/professors, having the requirements defined by Dlgs 147/2015 (for repatriates) or Dl 78/2010 (for foreigners).
