Our Institute for European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE) is looking for a new position of Research Assistant, located in Venice, responsible for conducting research, analysing policy frameworks, and developing recommendations to inform decision-making processes at local, national, and EU level.

ROLE
The Research Assistant is responsible for supporting the development of a climate policy decision support tool based on an assessment of climate policy impacts on health outcomes (WP2), liaising with communications (WP7) and policy outreach (WP8) within the IDAlert project. The research assistant is also expected to contribute to our multifaceted efforts in environmental economics, climate change adaptation and climate governance by researching, analysing policy frameworks, and developing recommendations to inform local decision-making, working in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment, with a visible impact on policy and society in Europe and beyond.
RESPONSIBILITIES Assisting in the development and leveraging of research findings and stakeholder input to inform evidence-based decision-making. Supporting stakeholder engagement activities, including organizing workshops, conferences, and policy dialogues to facilitate knowledge exchange and promote collaboration among diverse stakeholders. Preparing reports, briefings, and presentations to communicate research findings, policy analyses, and recommendations to policymakers, practitioners, and other stakeholders. REQUIREMENTS Master's degree in economics, climate change or equivalent subjectsVery good knowledge of the English languageAccuracy and good analytical skillsDURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The appointment period will be initially for 12 months starting from February 2025, renewable for 12 additional months pending a positive evaluation. Tenure can be granted from 2 to 4 years after being appointed as a junior researcher. The Managers will be based in Venice CMCC office. Contract and gross annual salary will be based on qualifications and working experience. Welfare package. Flexible working time as per internal policies.
