12689Deadline: March 10th, 2025What We Are Looking ForWe are looking for a senior scientist, specialist on innovative agronomic practices on herbaceous crops, with a specific focus on improving soil fertility, reducing emissions, and enhancing the resilience of cropping systems to climate change in Mediterranean environments, to collaborate with our scientists at Impact on Agriculture, Forests and Ecosystem Services (IAFES) division, based in Sassari.

ROLEThe Senior Scientist will focus on advancing innovative agronomic practices for herbaceous crops, emphasizing improving soil fertility, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and increasing the resilience of cropping systems to climate change in Mediterranean environments.
The position will actively support researchers within the IAFES division in identifying the most suitable innovative practices for specific agricultural systems, particularly in the Arborea Municipality in Sardinia, within the framework of the AGRISTAR project. ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Scientist will support the IAFES division in analyzing the local context and farmers' needs, identifying potential innovative management techniques to enhance the resilience and sustainability of agricultural systems analyzed in the AGRISTAR project.
Interaction with local stakeholders and dissemination of results through reports and scientific publications are expected. RequirementsPhD in Agricultural Science or equivalent subjectsIn-depth expertise in cropping systems and a comprehensive understanding of the local specificities of the Arborea agricultural area, supported by prior research or professional experience in the regionAvailability to travel for limited periodsDuration, Compensation & BenefitsThe period for the CONSULENZA OCCASIONALE will be 4 months.
The gross salary is 20K Euros. Flexible working time as per internal policiesPROTECTED CATEGORYBelonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.
