1D Cae Thermal Lead Engineer
WHAT TO EXPECT We are looking for Senior Leaders in Virtual Engineering to join us and lead vehicle or system programmes with concept simulation, modelling expertise and tools from research thru to the delivery phase to JOB1.
As part of the eDriveline team you will be responsible for developing the EDU Cooling System for the next generation of in-house manufactured propulsion systems.
The purpose of this role is to work on the design, development, and validation of the EDU cooling system.
The EDU Thermal Engineer will simulate, analyse and then optimise multiple EDU cooling system architectures and solutions using 1D simulation.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR * Manage the development of Automotive Components/Systems using engineering knowledge and experience combined with Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) techniques, to meet Thermal performance targets * Run CAE analysis, summarise results and feedback conclusions to the component Lead Engineers in an efficient manner.
* Able to work effectively with design teams to develop and optimise solutions considering multi-attributes within defined deadlines and time constraints * Have some product knowledge and awareness of potential design constraints (packaging, manufacturing etc. )
and ensure due consideration is given in developing solutions * Coordinate and lead projects and teams including the feedback of results as required through design / project reviews * Document and author Virtual test reports and Virtual test procedures.
* Support and present at design reviews with key stakeholders: COC component design teams, PAT teams, packaging teams * Work with the Subject Matter Experts (SME's) to ensure project documentation for each project is managed and maintained * Liaise with all internal customers of our business as well as offshore operations where necessary * Support the continual development of tools and techniques which enhance capability, improve quality and robustness of Virtual models * Mentor and train Junior team members and graduates * Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested WHAT YOU'LL NEED Essential: * Working knowledge and experience of CAE methodologies * Previous experience and background in solving complex technical ideas and challenges * Previous experience of Water/Oil cooling component/system level development using CAE to meet defined performance targets * Previous experience of delivering engineering or analytical projects * At least 5 years working practices relating to CAE methods and processes * GT Suite * Simulink * Catia V5 * AMESim * Project and people management skills.
* Experience in proposing product modifications to improve design * Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred Desirable: * Experience in continuous improvements to business processes to support customer service and financial objectives * A PhD/Master level of education with relevant industrial research is preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
