PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: As 1st Assistant, you will join our Department VECOP, in the business line Asset Based Services, conducting the following activities:Coordinate work and manpower on board for the assigned shift in compliance with Project specification, in order to ensure efficient performance while respecting HSE and Quality procedures and practices. Assist the Offshore Construction Manager with regard to interdisciplinary coordination of all works on board. Supervise the team of foremen and supervisors regarding the various disciplines/categories of construction and assembly work, in order to comply with the quality and safety standards. Coordinate the construction activities during the shift and optimize all production phases. Ensure that the Offshore Construction Manager is kept fully informed of potential problems and construction status. Liaise with Chief Mate, 2nd Engineer and Vessel Equipment Engineer to ensure preventive maintenance and construction activities. Liaise with subcontractors' supervisors to optimize production. Solve matters related to coordination, priority, and interface between the different disciplines to meet the scopes of the project. Ensure that the Permit-to-Work system for the construction crew is adhered to and that daily Tool Box Talks and JSA, if required, are carried out according to the procedures. Motivate all construction crew/subcontractors regarding health, safety, and environment awareness. Ensure compliance with the standards dictated by Saipem QHSE policies and safety procedures to perform the activities safely. Report incidents and near-miss events. Manage Crane operations, including coordination with the Chief Mate for main crane movements on board, ROV launching, and underwater operations. Assist marine operations if required. Provide a construction report at the end of each shift. Assist the Vessel Field Engineer in the follow-up of project equipment and consumables, operation, and monitoring of the stinger and JLT. Ensure the rigging gear used is within date and properly marked. QUALIFICATION: Preferably with technical High School Diploma or civil, mechanical, electrical, or naval engineering background. LABOUR RELATIONSHIP: Permanent contract. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 6 or 7 years of prior experience in the oil & gas business.
4 years of experience in the role of 1st assistant or a similar Supervisor Role. IT SKILLS: Office 365. SOFT SKILLS:Problem-solving. Ability to work in a team as well as individually with a minimum of supervision. Flexible and available to work on offshore rotation on board the vessels at national and international level. LOCATION: Milan, Italy.
Mobility to travel to all international locations and on board.
