**THE ROLE
You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where junior and senior scientists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal.
The Advanced Materials for Optoelectronics Research Unit is coordinated by Dr. Annamaria Petrozza.
The research focuses on the development of sustainable optoelectronic technologies which can be extensively integrated in the everyday life.
This includes the processing of innovative materials, the fabrication of optoelectronic devices and the advanced characterization of optoelectronic processes through cutting edge spectroscopic techniques.
The two Postdoc positions will focus on the advanced characterization of soft semiconductors and their interfaces by means of time resolved optical and electronic spectroscopy.
They include transient absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy and microscopy and time-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and microscopy.
Two areas of investigation will be proposed: 1) the photo-chemistry of defects in metal halide semiconductors; 2) opto-electronic mechanisms in photo-catalytic reactions.
Within the research team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Managing shared laboratory equipment, such as femtosecond lasers, streak camera, hyperspectral optical microscope, etc, in collaboration with your lab-mates;
- Conducting your own research project (as agreed with your supervisor);
- Supervision of early-stage researchers working on research project complementary to yours;
- Managing collaborations.
**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A PhD in Physics or Physical Chemistry, Material Science and similar disciplines;
- Documented experience in time resolved spectroscopy and/or microscopy;
- Strong publication record;
- Good command of spoken and written English.
**ADDITIONAL SKILLS
- Experience in the study of soft semiconductors and/or solution process semiconductors and/or 2D materails;
- Ability to work in a challenging and international environment;
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment;
- Possess Analytical Reasoning skills and a growth mindset.
**COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- A yearly gross salary ranging between 42, 000 Euros and 48, 000 Euros, depending on seniority;
- Private health care coverage;
