- We are looking for you, an ambitious master's student (M/F), to support our Polyurethane R&D and TS&D organizations by doing an internship project on Polyurethane Fire reaction Improvement for our location in Correggio, Italy.

- Project description

- The project is relevant to the production of halogen-free fire-resistant polyurethane materials. EH&S regulation and sustainability standards require the development of a new toolbox, free of halogenated flame retardants while keeping high flammability standards.

- Project Structure:

- 1. A literature review on polyurethane foams, flame retardants, and current approaches.

- 2. Development of a flame-retardant solution based on one of the following approaches:

- Synthesis of polymeric particles: various Polyurethane and/or polyurea particles.

- New additives and Inorganic particles and their stabilization in various blends.

- Synthesis of new polyols and backbones

- 3. Production of polyurethane foams using the newly developed solution (point 2)

- 4. Assessment of the fire performance of the polyurethane foam.

- 5. Documentation

- Qualifications

- You are currently studying for a master's degree or equivalent in Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry or similar

- You have a good working knowledge of English

- Basic Knowledge of organic chemistry and polymer science

- Do you like to work in the lab

- You like to address complex scientific problems
