The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, thermal, waste, renewable generation, and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension.
Our graduate electrical engineers work in world class teams to design and deliver sustainable solutions. Our work spans a variety of sectors including Thermal and Hydro Generation, Transmission and Distribution and Renewable energy.
Join us as a graduate electrical engineer based in our Genoa office, and you will have the option to work within either of the following areas:
Energy Networks – Substation Design: You will have the opportunity to join a rapidly growing team expert in the design of electrical substations from transmission to distribution voltage level. Working on projects that span across different insulation technology (e. g. , air, gas, vacuum insulated substations), including producing detailed designs. Energy Generation – Thermal Generation: You will have the opportunity to work on the detail design works and OE services for power plants including renewables. You will work in a team preparing proposals, executing projects, and support management for developing new clients and markets. Candidate Specification To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience (excluding placements) and have a master's degree (obtained no earlier than 2023) or are expected to achieve one in electrical engineering. In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.

Methodical approach to problem solving. Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently. Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members. Excellent written communication and attention to detail. Fluent in Italian and English.
