Our engineers are involved in many aspects of power engineering including the development and construction of new power generation projects to help meet energy related challenges and the transition to low carbon economies.
Our clients include plant owners, project developers, contractors, international lenders, and governments.
We are expanding our operations in the Power Generation detailed design market and are currently looking for a Detailed Design Account Leader
to join our international power generation team.
As Detailed Design Account Leader, you will be an integral part of a large multi-disciplinary, multi-skilled design team based in Genova Italy working on power generation
projects worldwide.
The clients and projects can be located anywhere in the world so the role is challenging and interesting.
You will be responsible for developing strong relationships with our current clients and expanding our client base to increase our share of the market in Owner's Engineering and Detailed Design
services.
You will be closely working with our account leaders and resource managers to enable selective focus in line with Mott MacDonald's Energy sector strategy and leverage on skills and competencies available in-house - this will also include managing the relationships with our strategic partners.
In addition, you will provide senior support and governance on world class generation projects to enable knowledge sharing and capability building.
International travel will be a part of the role, including client meetings and site visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Take a leading role in motivating and developing strong and robust client relationships
- Directing and developing our account leader community.
- Build the right capabilities in the region/unit to help us convert opportunities into revenue.
- Work with Account Leaders and Sector Leaders to maintain strong focus and ensure we deliver against business plans and sector strategies.
- Define and prioritise key clients, identify and engage emerging clients,
- Lead strategic decisions on which clients to pursue/not to pursue and ensure a healthy pipeline of revenue opportunities.
- Actively participate in key customer interactions and engagement and hold assigned key client relationships at senior level.
- Raise Mott MacDonald's profile through enhanced industry and media presence.
- Detect key themes and trends in the marketplace, communicate them effectively across the business and drive appropriate action.
- Contribute to preparing the annual business plan and strategies.
- Driving the bidding process, converting Prospects into Projects ensuring bids are technically and commercially sound;
- Addressing client's issues and fulfilling their aspirations on sustainability
- We are looking for a motivated person with a genuine passion to drive sales and client relationships, and with the following attributes:
- Demonstrable professional experience of detailed design in the power industry, ideally with an international developer or EPC contractor.
- Firmly established networks in the power industry, including but not limited to developers, suppliers, contractors, and public authorities.
- Commercial focus with good business acumen, experienced in contract negotiations.
- Outgoing and proactive, with the ability to work independently and with large teams.
- Strong client focus and ability to interface with numerous parties.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Fluent in English, additional language(s) desirable (French, Spanish or Italian).
