**The role

The first thing to know about joining a Startup environment is that you'll be doing a little bit of everything.

Our Finance & Accounting Specialist will work directly with the Strategy and Finance Partner of StartupGym and will manage a wide variety of activities that will support both StartupGym and our portfolio Startups success.

As our Finance & Accounting Specialist, **here's what you'll do**:

- Optimize cash flow and analyze financial data and implement strategies to improve cash management

- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial insights and recommendations

- Manage the end-to-end process of invoicing, including issuing and tracking invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery

- Work closely with the People department and the external payroll provider on the payroll process

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation, ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal requirements

- Oversee payment processes, including supplier payments, expense reimbursements, and other financial transactions

- Monitor and reconcile intercompany costs between different business units, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies

- Collaborate with various teams and departments to gather required financial information and support their operational needs

- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and suggest innovative ideas to streamline financial operations

- Handle various administrative tasks as needed, including document management, ensuring compliance with regulations, and addressing general administrative requirements.

- Support our Portfolio Startups in all Administrative & Finance activities

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

- 2 to 4 years of experience in finance and administrative roles within a fast-paced environment

- Proficiency in Office tools, especially Excel

- Proficiency in using financial tools and software, such as Sibill, and other accounting systems

- Fluent written and spoken English and Italian

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Proactivity with a willingness to propose new ideas take on new responsibilities

- Willingness to handle a variety of very different tasks and responsibilities

- Quick learner, with the ability to work both in teams and independently

- Precision and attention to details

- You are comfortable with working in a dynamic and diverse environment

- Ability to prioritize and set the right goals to measure

- Ambition and excitment for challenging goals

- Humility and ability to listen and learn from others

- Critical thinking, always finding new ways to improve the way we do things

- Preferably a chartered/registered accountant

**What we can offer, and what we can not

StartupGym is only two years old.

In the past 24 months, we tried many different models, experienced different organizational structures, and tested several angles.

Still, things are not yet defined a lot.

What we are sure about is that we are trying to create a new type of asset manager: one which is sustainable, not dependent on external investors, solving our social problems, and leveraging on expertise rather than just network.

Indeed, we can not offer a structured environment, typical of more established investment firms.

Since we are trying a different path to traditional capital, we are looking for passionate team members, fully committed to our secret plan of (really) impacting society.
