Accounting Manager (Italy)

Robertshaw's Europe, Middle East and Africa ("EMEA") footprint includes plants in the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria, with also facilities in Turkey and in Italy, its EMEA headquarters.
Italy comprises an approximate 100-colleague headcount, with representation across all key business functions including Sales & Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Supply-Chain, Operations, Logistics, Planning, Customer Services, Finance & Administration, Legal and HR.
**Reference Job Description**:
This is an Accounting Manager role offered for an indefinite term in relation to the Robertshaw Italy business.
At the outset it shall be fully based at Robertshaw's offices in Terno d'Isola (Bergamo region), but Robertshaw does also practice some smart-working which could be available once the role becomes more familiar.
The role requires an ability to work on issues where the analysis of a situation or data presupposes the competency to obtain high-level views and then review relevant factors and/or influences.
It also presupposes an ability to exercise sound judgment within defined procedures and policies, to determine appropriate action.
This role entails more specifically:
- Ensuring local Italy accounting rules are followed (with respect to VAT, Tax returns, and so on).
- Ensuring all accounts are reconciled accurately and timely.
- Preparing the annual financial statements up to footnotes.
- Consolidating statements for the Robertshaw Italy group annually.
- Dealing with auditors and leading the annual audit.
- Leading the monthly management reporting.
- Dealing with Transfer Pricing, supported by Robertshaw's global Tax Director.
- Calculating management fees from Robertshaw Headquarters to sister companies.
- Analyzing variances vs Budget on fixed Headquarter costs.
- Completing statistical requests from the Italian authorities
- Managing the activities of the local Finance function.
- Dealing with 3rd party advisors (tax, auditors, lawyers, and so on).
- Ensuring SOX compliance.
- Selecting, developing and evaluating personnel, to ensure the efficient operation of the Finance function.
**Other Details & Competencies**:
- At least business proficiency with English and Italian language, is mandatory.
