Applications Engineer
GENERAL PURPOSE The Applications Engineer will help the business win good orders, providing technical support to the sales team and ensuring the technical content of all quotations is complete and accurate.
They will carry out customer trials and the testing of machines to ensure the business can successfully make performance commitments to the customer.
They will carry out customer acceptance tests and support the general installation and commissioning of machinery and other OEM equipment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Review and discuss customer requirements with Sales Executives/Sales Administration and jointly agree what equipment and options should be offered to maximize the business opportunity to win good orders.
Review all quotation requests ensuring that they are technically complete and correct, including any customer specifications for output, pack quality etc.
and any performance commitments that the company is prepared to make.
Provide technical support to Sales Executives, by phone/email, by meeting customers who visit our premises, and by travelling to meet customers.
Arrange and supervise machine demonstrations and trials for customers as requested by the Sales Executives, including any trials required to support performance commitments.
Support customer Pre-Delivery Inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests at our sites, ensuring that customer objectives for such PDI/FAT are fully understood and met.
When required, undertake machine installation, commissioning and Site Acceptance Tests at customer's sites, working with the Field Service Team, in the UK, Europe, US, Middle East and elsewhere as needed.
Provide technical support for new machine development projects both during the development and testing phase in BW premises and during customer site trials.
Work with the engineering teams to provide descriptions and costs of any bespoke (custom) parts required to meet the customer's needs, for inclusion in the quotation.
Assess if there may be any requirement for installation time in excess of standards, and if so, advise the Service team for inclusion in the quotation.
Participate in Engineering team's technical review of all orders received.
Work with the Sales Administration Team to provide technical input into the equipment price lists.
As part of the Applications Engineering Team work closely with them and other Team Members throughout the Division to ensure commercial success.
Undertake whatever additional tasks are required to help the business to win good orders and deliver equipment that meets customers' needs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Qualified with a mechanical or electrical engineering degree level or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years' experience in a broadly similar engineering role.
At least 3 years' experience of the practical operation of packaging machinery and systems in customers' factories.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Experience in dealing face to face with customers, sometimes in high stress situations: professional and well-presented manner.
articulate and able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Responsible and able to work in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Commercially aware, particularly when liaising with customers.
High level of attention to detail.
Able to effectively use all standard Microsoft Office products.
Must be flexible on working hours as the workload requires.
Must be physically active and able to work (include lifting, other requirements of the role).
Good English is strongly required.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Hands-on ability to operate VFFS equipment and feeding systems.

Requisiti del Lavoro Istruzione: Laurea in ingegneria meccanica o elettrica o equivalente.
Esperienza: Minimo di 5 anni in un ruolo ingegneristico simile.
Almeno 3 anni di esperienza pratica con macchinari e sistemi di imballaggio.
Conoscenze, Competenze, Abilità: Esperienza in ruoli a contatto con i clienti, capace di gestire situazioni di alto stress.
Modo professionale e capacità di comunicare chiaramente.
Capacità di lavorare in modo indipendente e rispettare le scadenze.
Consapevolezza commerciale nel trattare con i clienti.
Alta attenzione ai dettagli.
Competenza nei prodotti Microsoft Office.
Flessibilità negli orari di lavoro e capacità fisica di eseguire i compiti del lavoro.
Padronanza della lingua inglese.
Requisiti Preferenziali: Esperienza in Project Management.
Esperienza pratica con attrezzature VFFS e sistemi di alimentazione.
