To plan appropriate maintenance activities, it is necessary to rely on accurate knowledge of the condition of each component, in continuous monitoring.

To overcome the criticalities of traditional surveys, increase the objectivity of the analysis and reduce costs and risks, this research program aims to define innovative methodologies for the analysis of high-density point clouds and digital images acquired by mobile laser scanner system during driving on the road, using approaches based on artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques, to analyse the condition of road infrastructure components.
