DescriptionThe ASN Clinical Assistant position coordinates, facilitates, administers, and monitors activities on behalf of the academic program and in coordination with academic and clinical Course Lead faculty. These activities ensure the quality of the student learning experience during clinical education. The ASN Clinical Assistant accomplishes this through:

Facilitation of the clinical education component of the curriculum with the Course Lead facultyResponsibility for facilitating students' clinical educationResponsibility for ensuring clinical education program complianceESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Supervises care provided by students at the clinical site during the rotationAssists students on how to perform duties in the clinical site and answers student questionsCoordinates with facility staff on student patient assignmentsIn conjunction with the Course Lead, observes/reviews the students' clinical workProvides timely feedback to the students on their progress and meets with students to review along with consultation from the Course Lead facultyCommunicates and oversees communication with the Course Lead faculty and students to monitor progress and assess students' performanceProvides guidance and support as required to problem solve and discuss students' concernsMeets with students prior to clinical affiliations to disseminate information on clinical policies and procedures, clinical site information, clinical education philosophy and objectivesAssesses students' performance during clinical education in coordination with Course Lead facultyComplies with site requirementsQualificationsSkillsPreferredOrganizational SkillsIntermediate Problem SolvingIntermediate Critical ThinkingIntermediate BehaviorsPreferredEnthusiastic: Shows intense and eager enjoyment and interestTeam Player: Works well as a member of a groupDedicated: Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity
