About The Role
About this opportunity Due to exciting and continued growth, Gleeds Ireland have an opportunity for an Assistant Building Surveyor to deliver building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations and maintenance works – from feasibility through to design, contract administration to handover and post completion reviews.
This role would be best suited for someone based in Dublin to support with works in and around the Dublin area.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assisting Building Surveyors with the preparation of:Feasibility studiesPreparing cost plansDesigns and detailed specificationsSubmissions for planning and building regulation approvalsTender documentation and managing the tender process, including designing tender marking schemesAssisting building surveyors with:Evaluating and reporting on tendersAdministration of construction contractsUndertaking surveys including condition surveys, DDA, Fire Risk Assessments, Schedules of Condition and Acquisition SurveysPreparing reports for customersUndertaking party wall surveyor dutiesProviding dilapidations advice and delivering dilapidations assessments and negotiating with other partiesUndertaking quality monitoring roles of major construction projectsSuccessfully completing the Gleeds internal APC preparation programme; and self-development training in readiness for attaining Chartered status (RICS)Ensuring that all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue, including maintaining evidence of independent checksAs a Gleeds team member, you will have access to: Opportunities to develop and grow your careerA contributory pension schemeEmployee Assistance ProgrammeOur Global Travel Scholarship ProgrammeFlexible working arrangementsAbout You
Who we're looking for: Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills Further post-graduate experience in a building surveying roleGood knowledge of construction methods and materialsGood knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategiesClear and effective communication skills – both oral and writtenGood organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changesSound problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skillsSound ICT Skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to work as part of a teamQualifications RICS exempting degree or post graduate diplomaAbout Us
