Assistant Financial Controller - Europe

S. and Europe, where we hold an industry-leading position. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our growing Europe Finance team. Position Overview: The Assistant Controller will support the Europe Finance Controller in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP, and enhancing financial processes. This role involves financial operations including month end close activities, financial reporting, support quarterly audit review and annual audit, and strengthening internal controls. This role will be located at Emeren Italy office in Milan, Italy. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation and analysis of Europe country financial statements in compliance with GAAP (US and local). Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Oversee general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Review contracts and agreements to ensure proper revenue recognition (ASC 606). Ensure lease accounting compliance (ASC 842). Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls and accounting policies. Collaborate with external auditors, managing audit processes efficiently. Assist with tax filings and coordinate with tax professionals as needed. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification). 6 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in a leadership role. Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or a similar reputable firm. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, financial reporting, and internal controls. Familiarity with financial audits and tax regulations. A proactive approach to problem identification and remediation solutions. Meticulous and superior attention to detail. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Industry experience in renewable energy or construction is a plus, but not required.
