Assistant Housing Program Coordinator
SAI Programs has been curating transformative study abroad experiences for American university students in Italy since 1995. SAI is seeking to fill the position of Assistant Housing Program Coordinator in Florence. This is a full-time position. This position requires some evening and weekend work and availability to assist students with emergencies after-hours.
**Requisites**:
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Italian
- Legal ability to work in Italy
- Knowledge of U. S. Higher Education systems and study abroad programs.
- Passion to work with university students and help them engage with the local culture
- Attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment and problem solve
- Flexibility
- Student accommodations management experience and/or hotel/residence management experience is a plus. Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
- Excellent customer service skills, experience in customer service preferable
- Good knowledge of Florence
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office and G Suite, especially Excel and Sheets
- Team player, and ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends
**Duties**:
- Supports Housing Manager and Housing Coordinator in managing student housing according to SAI standards
- Monitors maintenance requests and addresses them as necessary
- Communicates with housing agencies and students about maintenance issues
- Assists with damages reports, documentation, and communication with students
- Together with the rest of the housing team, performs apartment inspections prior to student arrival
- Completes housing assignments and communicates them to students according to SAI policies
- Assists with implementing inclusive events according to SAI procedures
- Advises and assists students. Issues may include: roommate disputes, homesickness, housing maintenance issues. Staff member must be available to accompany students to doctor appointments, police station and elsewhere as required
- Rotates as emergency contact 24/7 while programs are in session: when in charge of the emergency phone, staff member must be able to respond to emergencies 24/7 and easily get to and around Florence
- Executes SAI Disciplinary Procedures when required
- Communicates with parents/students before, during, and after the semester according to SAI's Communication Policy
- Supports Program Director and Assistant Program Director as needed
- Assists with Faculty Led Programs, including possible travel, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
