Assistant Housing Program Coordinator

SAI is seeking to fill the position of Assistant Housing Program Coordinator in Florence.
This is a full-time position requiring some evening and weekend work and availability to assist students with emergencies after-hours. Requisites:Excellent communication skills in both English and ItalianLegal ability to work in ItalyKnowledge of U. S. Higher Education systems and study abroad programsPassion to work with university students and help them engage with the local cultureAttention to detailAbility to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and problem solveFlexibilityStudent accommodations management experience and/or hotel/residence management experience is a plus.
Minimum of 1 year of experience preferredExcellent customer service skills, experience in customer service preferableGood knowledge of FlorenceExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and G Suite, especially Excel and SheetsTeam player, and ability to communicate effectively across multiple departmentsWillingness to work some evenings and weekendsDuties:Supports Housing Manager and Housing Coordinator in managing student housing according to SAI standards:Monitors maintenance requests and addresses them as necessaryCommunicates with housing agencies and students about maintenance issuesAssists with damages reports, documentation, and communication with studentsTogether with the rest of the housing team, performs apartment inspections prior to student arrivalCompletes housing assignments and communicates them to students according to SAI policiesAssists with implementing inclusive events according to SAI proceduresAdvises and assists students on issues including roommate disputes, homesickness, and housing maintenance issues.
Staff member must be available to accompany students to doctor appointments, police station, and elsewhere as requiredRotates as emergency contact 24/7 while programs are in session: when in charge of the emergency phone, staff member must be able to respond to emergencies 24/7 and easily get to and around FlorenceExecutes SAI Disciplinary Procedures when requiredCommunicates with parents/students before, during, and after the semester according to SAI's Communication PolicyManages the general email account for the Florence housing officeSupports Program Director and Assistant Program Director as neededAssists with Faculty Led Programs, including possible travel, as neededOther duties as assignedOnly applicants with a CV in English and valid EU working documents will be considered.
