The role: PFC's Alternatives Investments team is seeking an Associate in managing Private Equity, Infrastructure, Natural Capital, and Venture Capital Fund Selection with a strong emphasis on impact investing, evaluating and supporting investment opportunities that not only promise solid financial returns but also deliver positive environmental and social outcomes.
The associate will support the Investment Directors in research, analysis and due diligence activities, portfolio management, stakeholder engagement and other specific projects.
Responsibilities: Research and Sourcing: Oversee and guide in-depth research efforts on emerging trends and market developments in private equity, venture capital, infrastructure, and natural capital, particularly emphasizing impact investing; Lead market mappings efforts and dealflow sourcing activities Due Diligence: Support the evaluation of potential investment opportunities, ensuring comprehensive analysis against both financial performance metrics and impact objectives; Prepare Q&A and Data request documents, engaging in Due Diligence including analysis and evaluation of past performance/track record (incl.
benchmarking), Investment and Impact Strategy, Governance, Investment process and Team experience; Supervise and enhance the due diligence process for selecting fund managers and investments, emphasizing their ability to generate measurable impact along with competitive financial returns; Liaise with the Law Firm to validate Investment Agreements from a legal perspective; Draft Investment Memos and contribute to the discussion during the Investment Committee; Ensure findings are compiled and presented in a coherent and structured manner to aid investment decisions; Support decision-making on direct co-investments deriving from previously recommended Funds.
Portfolio Management: Oversee monitoring and reporting on the performance of existing fund allocations, ensuring they align with the Fund's impact investing criteria and financial targets; Lead the team in developing impact measurement frameworks and reporting methodologies; Support the tactical review of Alternatives Asset Allocation with the portfolio and market analyses necessary to the Investment Directors.
Stakeholder Engagement: Manage interactions and relations with fund managers, partners and placement agents; Lead meetings and calls, ensuring agendas and insights align with impact investing goals Advocacy: Participate in projects and initiatives that enhance the Fund's impact investment strategies and advocate for sustainable and impactful practices.
Support PFC team in advocacy initiatives through knowledge transfer and supporting the preparation of relevant documentation Requirements: Strong alignment with PFC's vision and values; At least 3 years of experience in Finance and Due Diligence roles in Asset Management with focus on Alternative Funds Investments; Strong ability to work proactively as part of a team, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and strive for a sophisticated result; Maturity and judgment ability when carrying out analysis; Ability to work in a dynamic environment; strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity and growth mindset; Genuine interest in Impact investing, which are core to PFC's Investment Strategy; Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and quantitative analysis; Knowledge of Python and/or Statistical Analysis Tool; Strong proficiency in Microsoft Power Point and Excel; Understanding of asset allocation concepts for Alternatives Asset Classes; Knowledge of Preqin/Burgis/Pitchbook or Hamilton Lane would be valued; Fluency in Italian and English.
Compensation and benefits: Full-time, permanent contract; RAL: 65k€ - 73k€; Bonus up to 40%; Ticket restaurant: 8€.
