Cumming Management Group , a Cost and Project Management Consultancy within the construction industry, provides a wide range of services to clients spanning several different sectors. Cumming Management Group are seeking to recruit an Associate Director in Milan. The role will have responsibility for a number of key clients and be expected to develop excellent long-term relationships with those clients whilst ensuring the provision of a quality service. As well as holding line management responsibility for a number of staff. You will report directly to the Senior Director responsible for Italy and have responsibility for coordinating the activities of work within your area of responsibility, and focus, through expansion and growth, on increasing turnover and profitability. The role of an Associate Director includes the following responsibilities: Lead service delivery with existing key clients, maintaining and strengthening client relationships and using opportunities to cross-sell. Develop our business; networking and developing client relationships. Support the development of a long-term strategy and vision for the success and growth of the Company within the area of responsibility. Develop expertise across the wide range of disciplines within the area of responsibility. Liaising with other sector leads and offices to create new opportunities. Support the implementation of strategic initiatives at service and sector level. Support delivering growth in turnover and profits with target clients. Strengthen our service delivery capability and promote knowledge capture, sharing and innovation. Support a step change in service capability and delivery to meet area of responsibility requirements. Support establishing a best in class service provision and delivery capability. Support the recruiting, developing, and leading a team towards achievement of the long-term strategy, ensuring projects have appropriate commercial resources and expertise. Providing regular updates to the Senior Director on progress within the area of responsibility. Project manage new bids including resource planning and fee proposals for Senior Director approval. Ensuring appropriate processes and procedures are in place during the bidding and delivery phases of projects. Ensuring project fees and budgets are adhered to, with robust contract and project change control processes to ensure Client approvals are in place to facilitate monthly invoicing. Ensure Client approvals are in place and monitor any changes in the scope of our service provision that may result in the need to adjust our fees. Assisting in the resolution of any disputes including the recovery of outstanding fees that are due. Manage the delivery of work through proactive involvement where appropriate and through performance management of personnel to ensure work is completed in a timely manner to a high-quality standard. Provide leadership to the staff where required, resolve conflicts of priorities and personalities. Mentoring team members, ensuring that staff and new starters are developed to support the successful growth of the Practice and development of their career. Ensuring communication is clear with staff understanding key priorities and practice goals. Ensure staff have current and relevant training. Forecast team workload and staffing requirements. Approve training plans to ensure succession planning and career development takes place. Ensure service delivery is in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Practice, particularly Health & Safety and Quality Assurance. Ensure compliance with client's corporate governance procedures where applicable. Managing office and country administrative activities, seeking approval from the Senior Director where necessary. Advise and guide colleagues in a supportive manner ensuring targets are set and deadlines achieved. Negotiate, influence and deliver results in a client-facing role. Qualifications & Skills: Ideally degree qualified: construction, cost management, architecture, engineering or quantity surveying. MRICS / other equivalent recognized qualification or professional body. A minimum of 5 years in hospitality experience is essential. Experience in Luxury Hospitality is desirable. Experience in other sectors (Real Estate or non-Real Estate) is desirable. Strong core technical and commercial skills. Strong interpersonal and team building skills with both client and staff. Excellent communication skills, oral, written and presenting in English and Italian. Strong analytical skills, sound judgement and an aptitude for forward planning. Energetic and motivated with natural drive and an innovative flair, resourcefulness and ability to adapt to change. Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills in Italian and English. Experience of managing people and delivering multiple or complex projects. High degree of integrity. Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters. Good relationships and connections with the Real Estate market (clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers).
