The Janssen Clinical Innovation (JCI) department reports into Global Clinical Development Operations (GCDO) and is dedicated to driving innovation into the clinical operating model to make clinical development faster and better for patients, investigators, Janssen, and the industry at large.
JCI's approach is to learn through doing.
We design and conduct demonstration projects that generate knowledge about novel operational models and methods.
Once proven valuable and feasible, we scale and embed new operational approaches and technologies into Janssen R&D with the goals of improving patient and site experiences, expediting drug development, and reducing overall costs Our success comes by way of our entrepreneurial culture and teamwork.
JCI is recruiting for an Associate Director - Janssen Clinical Innovation Leader, location is flexible and inclusive of the following locations: Titusville NJ, La Jolla SD, Beerse BEL or remote based locations proximal to the aforementioned locations.
**Principal Responsibilities**:
The Associate Director, Janssen Clinical Innovation Project Lead will be responsible for:
- leading, designing and driving transformational demonstration projects in, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, in areas such as digital health, patient & site centricity, non-conventional trial methods, real-world evidence and data sciences.
These projects will identify and test novel approaches, processes, technologies and best practices that have the potential to reduce trial set up and execution cycle times, and/or reduce cost; generate conclusive results to make the business case for scale-up or adoption of these new methods.
- Identifying, evaluating (designing KPIs to measure outcomes and success) and creating recommendations for implementing new clinical innovation opportunities to improve clinical operations productivity and site & patient engagement.
- Proactively identifying potential roadblocks and taking a solutions-driven approach for complex and undefined projects that may not be addressed by existing policies, procedures, or protocols.
- Providing leadership and project management for multiple initiatives simultaneously
- In close collaboration with the internal key stakeholders, identify potential pilot studies
- Co-leading, with the future business owner, change management to ensure successful implementation in the broader organization
- Collaborating with external partners/academic institutions to co-develop and drive innovative clinical development solutions.
**Qualifications
A Bachelors' degree is required; Master's degree/Graduate degree in business or life sciences is highly preferred; a minimum of 8 or more years of total business experience is required as well as a minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical development environment (pharmaceutical, medical device, CRO or other clinical development service organization) is required.
**Other requirements**:

- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to persuade, negotiate, and moderate conflict
- Motivates professional colleagues and stakeholders cross functionally
- Comfort exploring new spaces where there is little to no existing experience or guidelines
- Familiarity with and interest in health technology and health information technologies; real-world evidence and data sciences is preferred.
