INTRODUCTION The International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (the Centre) is the training arm of the ILO, the Specialized Agency of the United Nations, which promotes social justice and human rights in the world of work.
The Centre delivers training, learning and capacity development services to governments, employers' and workers' organizations, and other national and international partners, in support of decent work and sustainable development.

The ACTRAV Programme provides training to empower workers and their organisations using innovative needs-driven training and education activities to promote Just Transitions, Social Justice, and Decent Work for All.
The Programme strengthens workers' knowledge, skills and competences to forge strategies for transformation and it provides a safe and dynamic space for networking, engagement and solidarity.
The Associate Programme Officer reports to the Programme Manager of the Workers Activities Programme and will join a collaborative team managing The Action 'Youth4Future', designed by the Programme for Workers' Activities of the ITCILO in collaboration with the ETUC (European Trade Union Confederation) that aims to enhance the effectiveness and inclusivity of trade unions by fostering strong and representative youth-responsive social dialogue.
This position demands the highest standards of integrity, respect for social, ethical and organizational norms and firm adherence to codes of conduct and ethical principles.
Functional responsibilitiesUnder the supervision and guidance of the Programme Manager of the Workers' Activities Programme, the Associate Programme Officer will manage 'Youth4Future' action and will support the implementation, consolidation and further expansion of the portfolio of training and learning activities with emphasis on Workers Education, innovation, communication and digitalization.
The Associate Programme Officer will support the development and delivery of training activities to promote Workers' Education, Just Transitions, Social Justice, and Decent Work for All.
His/her responsibilities are:
Select, organize and summarize background information to describe the overall situation or developments relevant to a specific technical area, and prepare comments on the improvement of training materials, the development of new courses and projects. On the basis of identified training requirements, support the design of training activities in coordination with the relevant partners, preparing training proposals and sharing them with potential partners. Develop course curricula, training material (including online), promotional materials, schedules, and methods for the implementation of training courses. Act as activity manager or co-manager, organize, deliver, monitor, prepare reports, evaluate and facilitate the implementation of training activities (blended, distance and face-to-face), identify problems, and propose action to expedite and maximize delivery and to ensure technical quality. Coordinate the delivery of training courses, including distance education programmes, as a trainer, tutor, and facilitator. Support the development of online dynamic participative training methodologies and practices in order to improve the quality, appropriateness and impact of the programme's training activities. Support in the preparation and submission of Training Project Proposals to potential donors and coordinate with partners. Qualifications requiredEducationAdvanced university degree in education, social sciences, economics, management of development or other relevant field, and specialization in a technical field relevant to the theme.
ExperienceAt least three years of progressively responsible professional experience,
Experience in the organization, management and delivery of training.
At least two years of experience working on Learning, innovation and digitalization and demonstrated familiarity with Trade Unions, relevant institutions and initiatives.
Experience in low- or medium-income level country an asset.
LanguagesExcellent knowledge of English.
Knowledge of other working languages is an asset.

A successful candidate will be offered a 12 months contract, with possibility of extension of one additional year.
Salary and Post Adjustment, for information only and subject to revision by the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC):
grade P. 2, step 1, in US$, per year: US$ 55, 163
Post adjustment for Turin (subject to change): US$ 9, 378
