A great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a corporate working environment Full time position: working 5 days a week, with the opportunity to receive training and support towards professional qualifications Working within a fun, collaborative Marine Underwriting team, in Italy and across Europe We are looking for an Associate Underwriter Marine Hull to manage a portfolio of direct Hull business to be based in Genoa.

You will be joining an interesting and international team, you will initially support the team in certain administration activities, mainly policies / endorsements handling and once your training will be completed you will start being in contact with clients, brokers and associations and you'll be expected to provide clients (Shipowners, Shipyards) with solutions which meet their needs.

This vacancy is adjustable and expandable, depending on the applicant's experience.

Role responsibilities Actively policies / endorsements handling Actively manage and maintain underwriting documentation Problem solver and looking for solutions, liaising with Underwriting Operations, Technical Accounting, Claims when required Working to strict deadlines and managing stakeholder expectations, with regular communication Liaising with brokers and third parties to handle new/renewal accounts, when required Dealing with markets across all continents with a wide range of activities involving analyzing, rating and signing hull risks.

Conducting sector specific market analysis of portfolio and claim patterns will fall within your remit, as will a certain amount of planning and controlling.

Key requirements Maritime, economical or legal background preferred.

Experience in Hull and Liability insurance underwriting or broking preferred.

Wide MS Office knowledge.

Proficient in English.

Italian mother tongue.

Other languages would also be of benefit.

Good interpersonal skills, team player, sensitive to cultural differences.

Client orientation, operational excellence attitude and perseverance.

Flexible, open minded and highly analytical.
