Role description We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Automation and Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our dynamic team in the plastics industry.

This role will primarily focus on overseeing the automation processes and managing manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency, product quality, and safety standards.

The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve process automation, troubleshoot and maintain equipment, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Main tasks and responsibilities Design, implement, and optimize automation systems for plastic manufacturing processes. Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automated equipment and machinery. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to manufacturing equipment and automation systems. Work closely with the production team to monitor and improve process efficiency and quality. Develop and implement process control strategies to enhance productivity and minimize downtime. Analyze production data and provide recommendations for process improvements and cost reductions. Ensure that equipment and processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to manage equipment upgrades and replacements. Provide technical support and training to production staff on equipment operation and maintenance. Lead continuous improvement projects using lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. Education and experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in automation, process engineering, and manufacturing in the plastics industry. Strong understanding of plastic molding, extrusion, or injection molding processes. Experience with PLC programming and automation control systems. Knowledge of equipment management and preventive maintenance strategies. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems. Familiarity with industry safety and quality standards (ISO, OSHA, etc.
