Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated AUTOMATION SOFTWARE ENGINEER who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

In Naples, Hitachi Rail employs roughly 700 people, mostly engineers, who are developing signaling technologies at the state of the art, signaling systems design, the analysis of safety, reliability and availability, laboratory testing, contract management and control, research and development, procurement, and prevention and protection.

The Naples offices are located in the area of San Giovanni a Teduccio, an industrial area that is easy to reach from the airport and train stations.

Mission: Contribute to the delivery of software fulfilling input requirements (Functional, Performance, Quality), based on the best efficient modular design managing the best compromise between Budget, Schedule, Risks, Reuse, and standardization for the future.

Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Accountabilities will include but are not limited to: Support the proper requirements management for all phases of the software lifecycle. Contribute to the design and implementation of a complete solution (Modules, documentation, and tools). Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code. Contribute to the correct operation of the software on the applicable platforms. Provide the proper level of support to other functional units (RAMS, Verification, Test & Commissioning, etc.

). Apply common methodologies, technical solutions, and best practices in coherence with the Development function. Education required: Master/Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electronics/Telecommunications/Automation Engineering.

Experience: At least 3 years in the development of web applications for both front end (client side) and back end (server side).

Qualifications/Skills: Creative, flexible, and self-motivated. Available to quickly and continuously learn. Ability to manage time and quality. Analyzing information. Software testing. Problem solving. Strong team working attitude in an international environment. Software requirements. Knowledge: UI and UX design. At least one popular front-end framework, preferred Angular. At least one popular back-end framework, preferred Spring Boot and NodeJs. At least one server-side programming language like Java, Python, C#/. Net, etc. Advanced techniques for unit and integration testing, continuous integration. Experience with SQL (at least one DBMS like MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, etc. )
