**BAR BACK**:
Job purpose
The Bar Back plays a crucial support role in the bar operations of the exclusive member club, assisting bartenders and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the bar. They are responsible for maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, and assisting with various tasks to facilitate high-quality service.
**Main Activities and Responsibilities**:
- Assist bartenders in preparing and serving beverages, including gathering and organizing ingredients, garnishes, and glassware.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning glassware, and disposing of waste.
- Stock and replenish bar supplies, including liquor, mixers, ice, and garnishes, to ensure availability during service.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down the bar area before and after service, including arranging bottles, tools, and equipment.
- Handle routine maintenance tasks, such as changing kegs, cleaning draft lines, and restocking beer coolers.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, notifying management when supplies need to be reordered.
- Assist bartenders in handling cash transactions, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records.
- Provide assistance to bartenders during busy periods, such as retrieving bottles, fetching ingredients, and restocking stations.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times, including proper handling of hazardous materials and adherence to food safety regulations.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with liquor licensing laws and regulations, including checking identification and preventing overconsumption. Manage other activities relating to or resulting from what is indicated in the previous points.

**Key Competencies**:
**Required Education and Experience**:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; previous experience in a similar role in a hospitality or food service environment preferred but not always necessary.
- Knowledge of one or more foreign languages (min. Italian and English).
**General Knowledge and Technical Skills**:
- Basic knowledge of beverage service procedures and standards.
- Familiarity with bar equipment, including glassware, shakers, strainers, and jiggers.
- Ability to operate POS systems and handle basic transactions.
**Personal and Interpersonal Skills**:
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take on a variety of tasks to support the team.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with bartenders and other staff.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization in the bar area.
- Professional demeanor and appearance, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
