**Business Overview of BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking - Capital Markets - Debt Markets Analyst/Associate **(Primary Focus Loan Capital Markets)
Global Banking focuses on 3 main business areas: Corporate Clients Group, the gateway of BNP Paribas' integrated offer, which manages all the interactions between the Bank and its corporate clients; Capital Markets, operates across debt and equity; and Transaction Banking, which deals with Cash management, Transactional FX, Deposits, Trade financing and Supply Chain Solutions.
Debt Markets EMEA's mission is to serve the bank's corporate and private equity clients, by originating (jointly with Coverage), structuring and executing all debt transactions (corporate facilities and event-driven transactions).
The debt product continuum is fostered by Debt Markets EMEA's organisation, ensuring that a product neutral approach is delivered to BNP Paribas' corporate and private equity clients, and reinforcing BNP Paribas' position as a leading debt solution provider in Europe, whilst providing holistic capital structure advice with teams across Capital Markets.
Debt Markets EMEA has representatives in several countries including the UK, France, Benelux, Italy, Germany, Spain and Portugal among others and is structured around:
- Investment Grade Finance
- Debt Capital Markets ("DCM")
- Loan Capital Markets ("LCM"), which also includes debt originators for the banks' Domestic Markets (France, Belgium, Italy)
- Leveraged Finance
- Leveraged Finance Capital Markets ("LFCM")
- Leveraged and Infrastructure Telecom & Media Financing
- Transversal Teams
- Structuring & Execution Group ("SEG")
- Credit & ESG Ratings Advisory
- Credit & Portfolio Management ("CPM")
Together, these teams are responsible for the origination, structuring, underwriting and execution of:
- Acquisition financing for corporates
- Refinancing and liquidity facilities for corporates
- Integrated financing solutions to midcap and sub-investment grade corporate clients
- Investment grade bonds
- LBO and Corporate Leveraged financings
**Primary Responsibilities
- Assisting in the origination of acquisition financing, other event driven financing, and corporate refinancing for LCM clients
- Building and analysing financial models (P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet) including preparing figures for assessment of potential external rating impact(s)
- Preparing loan elements of pitch books for client meetings (often working together with coverage, Advisory, DCM, ECM, Loan Syndicate) including research work (company and industry analysis, data)
- Writing credit papers for credit committee for acquisitions and other event driven financing
- Monitoring and managing risk for event driven transactions
- Developing an understanding of the key elements of loan structuring/documentation
- Assisting the management and development of more junior team members
- Interaction with clients and advisors (lawyers etc. )
at an appropriate level
- Exchange of information with managers and with other Structuring and Execution Group teams across Europe
- Supporting the Leveraged Finance Capital Markets team occasionally with the aim to build a broad skillset
- Adherence to the Bank's corporate policies, compliance regulations and external regulation
**What we expect from you
Education: A degree from a leading university with an excellent academic record; or equivalent work experience.
Previous experience within a top tier investment bank and in a similar/related business area
