I am seeking an experienced

cookbook designer

to create a visually compelling and user-friendly layout for a forthcoming title.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in

cookbook and editorial design

, expertise in

InDesign

, and experience with

typesetting, layout, and print production

Key Responsibilities:•  Develop multiple

sample layouts

for the cookbook, incorporating text, photography, and design elements. •  Collaborate with the author to refine and finalize the selected layout. •  Flow the

final manuscript (Word document) into the InDesign file, ensuring proper formatting and styling. •  Conduct

two rounds of revisions

,  based on the author's feedback, making necessary adjustments to layout, text, typography, and spacing. •  Prepare the final InDesign file for

print production

, ensuring compliance with printer specifications. •  Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high design standards.

Required Skills & Experience:•  Proven experience in

cookbook design and layout

. •  Expertise in

Adobe InDesign

. •  Strong

typographic and typesetting skills

, with an understanding of how to balance text and imagery in a cookbook format. •  Knowledge of

print production processes

and file preparation for printing. •  Ability to work collaboratively and respond constructively to feedback. •  Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:•  Previous experience designing

cookbooks, food magazines, or recipe-driven publications

. •  Familiarity with

printing specifications for high-quality food photography

. •  Experience working with

traditional publishers
