Responsibilities And Challenges You will be part of a dedicated local Water in Cities team of eight colleagues whose competencies range from riverine hydraulics to aquifers, from water distribution to collection systems and treatment plants, with a specific focus on numerical modeling and real-time Decision Support Systems.

Furthermore, you will closely collaborate with a team of WWTP experts located in other DHI offices.

Main Responsibilities Driving business development and project acquisition in the WWTP sector, identifying and pursuing new opportunities Providing technical leadership and consultancy for wastewater treatment plant design, optimization, and performance improvement Developing and applying numerical models for WWTP process simulation, including biological treatment, hydraulics, and energy optimization Leading and managing projects from proposal stage to implementation, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction Supporting clients with domain expertise, offering tailored solutions for operational efficiency and regulatory compliance Collecting and analyzing hydrological, hydraulic, and process data to inform decision-making and model calibration Implementing and maintaining Decision Support Systems for real-time monitoring and optimization of WWTP operations Developing and delivering software training sessions for internal teams and external clients Building strong client relationships and ensuring high-quality client care to drive long-term collaboration and repeat business Qualifications And Personal Skills Educational background in civil/environmental engineering or a related field 8+ years of experience in wastewater treatment consulting, numerical modeling, or process optimization (senior profiles will also be considered) Proven expertise in WWTP process modeling and optimization, with experience using tools such as WEST, BioWin, GPS-X or similar Strong business acumen with the ability to identify and develop new project opportunities in the WWTP sector Experience in client relationship management, proposal development, and consulting sales Hands-on experience in WWTP operation, data-driven process optimization, and decision support systems Mentorship and leadership skills to guide and support junior colleagues Proficiency in data analysis and processing, with experience in Python, MATLAB, Modelica, or other programming languages as an advantage Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite We offer To Work At DHI Means Being Part Of a Global Organisation That Is The Leader World-wide In Solving The World's Toughest Challenges In Water Environment We Will Offer You
