Job Description We are looking for a Business Developer for Salomon (Milano and North of Italy) on a fixed term contract until 28. 02. 2026 to: Drive sales and promote the brand to achieve significant sales targets for Salomon.
Ensure an exceptional consumer experience at assigned accounts and OMNI channel touch points.
Build partnerships with key specialty sporting goods retailers by developing joint plans that benefit both Salomon and the retailer.
You will work in close collaboration with our Market Manager, Area Sales Managers, Customer Service, Shopper Marketing Manager, and Influencer Marketing Manager.
You will report directly to the Market Manager.
Main Activities: Achieve the seasonal sales and distribution targets in the defined territory.
Develop a seasonal "game plan" to drive Salomon brand guidelines, strategies, and priorities.
Build, present, and coordinate seasonal Joint Business / Marketing plans with assigned Premium Partners that deliver on strategic objectives of Salomon and maximize consumer preference and brand experience.
Meet the seasonal key product category objectives in sales and distribution.
Identify territory sales, distribution, and promotion opportunities.
Manage all customer-related topics - sales and accounting aspects.
Sell Thru & Consumer Experience Ensure a high level of product expertise and brand knowledge (Shop Pro Training) for store employees in Premium Partner and selected category specialty doors for a best-in-class consumer experience.
Increase and maximize Salomon in-store brand visibility and image through defined product assortments and seasonal key story packages.
Manage and execute local consumer activations/events in the Premium Partner Network as required.
Coordinate a seamless sell-thru execution, utilizing internal resources (shopper, customer service, IMM).
Relationship Develop and maintain great working relationships with key personnel in each account.
Develop and maintain close cooperation with the Salomon ASM community.
Develop and maintain relationships with the local sports environment/community (clubs, resorts, events).
Reporting Prepare and review customer performance reports on a seasonal basis.
Analyze and report competitor distribution, in-store presence, and offer.
Provide information to the Market Manager on trade-related information on an ongoing basis.
Complete all reports and records required and submit on a timely basis.
Share best practices across the sales and marketing team.
Qualifications At least 2 to 5 years of experience in sales with a strong Sporting Goods expertise.
Any other experience in the Sports and Outdoor Industry will be welcomed.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Experience in sell-through activation in-store and events.
Retail math and analytical skills.
Negotiation and solution-selling skills, managing objections.
Drive for results: you exceed goals and often go above and beyond what's asked.
You look to improve SOP.
Clear and articulate communication: you are able to absorb information and demonstrate understanding in both written and verbal forms.
Relationship building: you maintain relationships and understand others' motivations, finding mutual connections; you have good levels of interpersonal sensitivity and sociability.
Desired Qualifications Education: High school level education minimum / Degree level ideally.
IT Skills: Microsoft Office – strong Excel skills, Sales Tools (sales portal, B2B, SFA).
