**About the role
We are seeking an experienced professional to strengthen our Business Development & Strategic Planning Team headquartered in Bologna.
The team aims at developing the organization's strategic plan to ensure a successful growth and profitability and support the business strategy by designing, developing and implementing organizational models to optimize the achievement of business objectives.
The Business Development Specialist plays a vital role in working alongside senior management to identify potential new merger and acquisition (M&A) opportunities (which are in line with Coesia's strategy and priorities), and to lead the execution of projects including, among other things, due diligence coordination, project management (internal teams as well as advisors) of the newly acquired companies.
Additionally, the Business Development Specialist is responsible for providing support to top management in defining strategic planning, special projects and external growth opportunities.
**Special Projects / Challenges
Main activities include:
- Identifying and evaluating potential M&A opportunities aligned with the company's strategic objectives;
- Conducting thorough due diligence on potential targets, including financial analysis, market research, and risk assessment;
- Developing and presenting business cases for potential M&A opportunities, including financial projections, synergies, and strategic fit;
- Lead negotiations with target companies, including deal structuring and terms;
- Project management activities during the integration of newly acquired companies, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring a smooth transition;
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as legal, finance, and operations, to address integration challenges and maximize synergies;
- Supporting top management in the development of the company's strategic planning initiatives, including market analysis, competitive landscape assessment, and identification of growth opportunities;
- Assisting in the formulation and implementation of long-term planning, including setting strategic goals and defining key performance indicators;
- Providing recommendations and insights to improve business development processes and strategies.
**What you need to be successful
- At least 5 - 7 years experience in similar roles
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management Engineering.
MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus;
- A proven experience in business development, mergers and acquisitions, or related roles;
- Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data;
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Strategic mindset and ability to think analytically and creatively.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Proficient in conducting due diligence and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and other relevant business software
- Full professional fluency in English; any additional language skill will be considered as a plus.
