Location: Padua, Italy (remote within Italy).

The team has an interdisciplinary background, which, in addition to the foundational areas of data science and AI, includes cognitive science, analytical chemistry and even philosophy.

Thanks to its team's expertise and background, GZI can offer highly flexible and customizable AI solutions across industries, with a special focus on technological agriculture (Agritech).

We are seeking a business-oriented data scientist who will have a front-line role, helping our team to build technological solutions for our clients.

As a business-oriented data scientist, you are interested _also_ in the business side of data science:

- you can (or are eager to learn how to) think from a business point of view;

- you are interested in the business's challenges of data science projects;

- you collaborate closely with line-of-business people on data science projects;

- you feel comfortable with a client-facing role that builds relationships with the business stakeholders.

This exciting position offers the interesting chance of managing the whole data science pipeline, from the project definition with the client, to the data modeling phase and the presentation of the final results.

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- support the execution of project work in Italy, in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics, with a focus on Agritech;

- support the interface and interaction with potential clients and stakeholders;

- report to the CEO of the business and interface with the technical team (Data Science and Software Engineering) in Austria / Germany;

- this role will benefit with meaningful amount of guidance and supervision remotely.

**What We Need To See**:

- master's degree (Laurea Magistrale) in a quantitative discipline (for example, mathematics, computer science, physics, engineering), preferably with a machine learning focus, or in agronomy with a technical focus;

- some experience in writing code in languages like Python, R, Scala, C++;

- keen learner, hands-on approach and ability to work independently and proactively;

- business curiosity and ability to identify solutions to practical business problems;

- located in Italy, with preference for the North-East (Veneto, Friuli, Trentino-Alto Adige);

- comfortable with remote working.

- English and Italian fluency in verbal and written form.

**How You Stand Out From The Crowd**:

- one

- or two-years' experience with work or stage in relevant areas of the business (Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Agritech);

- familiarity and affinity with start-up environments and dynamics;

- experience in machine learning, e. g. , statistical learning theory, deep learning, natural language processing, etc.
