**Responsibilities
- Procures materials, equipment and services (ie. circuit boards, fabricated parts) and assists in leading the Purchasing Department in obtaining critical and (high dollar) materials, equipment and services
- Manages and directs ASM vendors to maximize ASM's position in meeting delivery of quality materials
- Interfaces with Production Control, Quality Control, Manufacturing and Finance as required
- Places, reschedules, and cancels purchase orders in a timely manner
- Understands market conditions and makes recommendations for Supply Solutions
- Maintains SAP database to keep lead-times, standard costs, and all pertinent data accurate
- Takes on projects while keeping the team informed of progress or roadblocks
**Education & Experience
- Bachelor or certification in Business, Supply Management (or related topic)
- At least a first relevant experience is required for this role - ideally in the semiconductor industry or in a manufacturing environment
**Skills
- Strong negotiating skills
- Strong interpersonal, consultative, and conflict resolution skills
- Strong organization and analytical skills
- Ability to manage and direct vendors and perform value analysis required
- Usage of computer based MRP required SAP preferred
- Solid understanding of cost reduction and inventory management techniques
- Strong ability to follow through on all tasks
- Excellent communication skills in English and Italian
