PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Buyer Specialist is responsible for leading the team that manages the relationships with suppliers, build the strategies with the key folks of the company and ensures business continuity to serve the Using location.
The Buyer responsibilities include the sourcing management and the total acquisition cost management.
Develop the strategy of the Fasteners Perimeter (Reduction of # supplier & proliferation @ plant level) for both Harvesting and Tractor production lines. Manage the external company in charge of the purchase requisition and sourcing activity following KPI as Ageing and Purchase requisition backlog. Support internal customer for business stability. Collaborate and coordinate with plants to develop kanban activity with the target to implement 3PL company capable to manage multiple sources of suppliers. Develop and deploy the strategy plant by plant with support of external company to manage the sourcing. Manage suppliers' relationship to have the parts on time. Perimeter: Fasteners components for all plant of AG segment covering $46 Mio APV, 136 suppliers and around 9000 PN to manage. Manages the decomplexity through rationalization plan, plant by plant. Drive the localization plan. Supports function for new product launch initiatives while developing and implementing cost reduction and sourcing strategies, leading to improved quality, technology and timely delivery performance. Drives, forecasts and reports economic savings performance, negotiates price reductions, increases and long-term agreements, market test and award new business to maximize leverage, analyzes various reports to capture opportunities. Alignment of all key stakeholder's objectives during the sourcing processTOTAL ACQUISITION COST MANAGEMENT Identify risks and opportunities for the total cost of current productsForecast budgetary impacts of risks and opportunitiesRaw material & Economic impactsLogistics, Transportation, Packaging ImpactsCurrency & Tariff impactsCapacity impactsCreate mitigation plan for risk & implementation plan for opportunityLead negotiations for total cost improvement of current productsLead cross-functional activities for total cost improvement projects with internal customers and support functionsRELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (SUPPLY BASE) Supply/Relation Champion
Escalation to resolve supply base issuesContract NegotiationsPURCHASING STRATEGY MANAGEMENT Define/create interim and long term purchasing strategies to secure the supply of productsBest in class product innovation and developmentPURCHASING ADMINISTRATION Create purchasing price list and contracts in the GPP systemUpdate contracts and part number changes after potential technical changes, accomplished negotiations, carry over of p/n to new platform etc. JOB TITLES REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS (including education & years of experience): Master's degree in economics, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or Finance preferred. Fluent EnglishExcellent knowledge in Excel and the Office packageRelevant product/commodity knowledgeKnowledge of local supplier's market for the relevant product/commodityMinimum 5 years' experience in the positionDESIRED CHARACTERISTICS: Negotiation skills to achieve resultsAbility to get the consensus of the internal customer.
