The Design & CAE team supports Customer CAE projects through computer simulations, data for computer simulations, and methodology developments.
The team is also responsible for the LYB CAE material database, including material test execution and material card generation.
Responsibilities: Execute and report computer simulation studies for customer projects about structural simulations.
Collaborate on the creation and maintenance of material cards for computer simulations for structural analysis.
Ensure computer simulations needed within Customer applicative projects, in agreement with project leader and Business directions.
Support applicative projects by elaborating CAD part geometries and building CAE F. E.
meshes.
Execute structural finite element analysis on Customer projects with LyondellBasell materials and assess the validity of the design proposed by the Customer.
Write technical reports summarizing the structural analysis results and discuss them with the Customer.
Collaborate on simulation methodology development under the direction of the direct supervisor.
Support CAE material data elaboration and generation of material input data ("material cards") for the CAE software in use.
Support selection and evaluation of CAE SW tools, verifying performances and issues.
Area of Expertise, Requirements: Experience in structural simulation (static-crash-creep-fatigue).
Knowledge of continuum mechanics applied to polymers, viscoelasticity, and viscoplasticity.
Knowledge of one or more Computer Simulation codes like Abaqus, Hypermesh, LS-Dyna, Digimat, Moldflow.
Experience in laboratory mechanical tests.
Basic knowledge of data analysis and signal manipulation, including filtering, FFT, sampling, and statistics.
Fluent usage of PC Operating system (MS-Windows) and MS-Office tools.
Programming tools: Visual Basic, Matlab, Python, Fortran, or others.

Qualifications Education:
Required: University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or equivalent.
Optional: Trainings in simulation codes like Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Hyperworks, or similar.
Work Experience:
Preferably 2-3 years in a CAE team with a role of structural analyst/simulation engineer.
