Job Title: Campus Director, Italy General Purpose of the Position:This is a local leadership role with responsibility for the operations and management of a STACK Data Center Campus.
The role has overall responsibility to ensure we meet all STACK's operational requirements, manage the operations team, maintain the facilities to exacting standards, meet all local regulatory requirements, develop and maintain opex and capex budgets, facilitate project activities, and work with the team to maintain high levels of client satisfaction in our leased facilities.
The ideal candidate is a people leader and mentor.
They will be responsible for the performance and conduct of the Critical Operations and Security teams within the campus and will create an inclusive work environment where all employees, clients, and vendors feel welcome and empowered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Lead and implement standardized culture of always working safely across all STACK data centers. Advise the Country Operations VP of the status of their site level preventative and corrective maintenance programs. Work closely with Critical Operations Manager and team to:Ensure STACK preventative and predictive maintenance program is executed. All staff are properly trained and mentored. Local management of vendor relationships and contracts. Create highly detailed technical procedures for maintenance events, emergency situations, standard site evolutions, etc. Ensure any fit out, construction, or commissioning activities do not impact existing critical operations. Manage development and maintaining of individual training plans for each employee in line with the STACK training and development program. Manage systems to avoid unplanned, customer-impacting outagesMonitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions within the facility. Lead incident reporting and root cause analysis processes to deep dive into abnormal occurrences within the data center. Manage site audits both internal and externalEnsure campus is compliant with the Stack management system & statutory requirements. Provide day-to-day exceptional client service and support. Drive continuous improvement in campus operations by enhancing the efficiency of site infrastructure.
Propose changes and investments to achieve campus operational excellence. On-call availability is required to respond to emergency situations at the data centerSite budgeting and forecasting for both CAPEX and OPEX. Manage campus operations within approved budget requirements. Map and understand the principles of function for all systems and plants on site, and how they are used to fulfil client SLA in a cost- efficient manner. Work closely with the client services team and understand the client contracts relevant to the site/campus.
Responsible for all reporting from site activity, KPIs, and operational statuses. Map and understand statutory requirements for the site operations and ensure that formal HSE roles are defined on site (eg Fire Warden, 1st Aider, FEL/FEF etc.
). Work closely with all STACK departments to support all client requirements and activities while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction. Build company brand profile and culture through the presentation of sites, service delivery, collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees, enforcing high reliability and sustainable business practices Education and Experience:Practicalities:The Campus Manager role is located at a dedicated campus to interact with all local activity and operations. 24/7 operations may require out of hours work related to incidents.
Education and skills: Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and the local language. Ability to effectively multitask, prioritize activities, and work well in stressful situations. A good understanding of the technical infrastructure systems for cooling and power, and how they interact with client IT equipment and SLA measures. Experience in facility or campus management preferred. Understanding of local regulatory and compliance requirements related to campus and facility management. Experience managing a 24/7 operation, with good capabilities in strategic planning, quality management. Proven people management and leadership skills, with the ability to coach, focus and mentor the whole campus team in accomplishing site objectives, using methods and a flexible interpersonal style to helpFinancial understanding to efficiently establish and manage to P&L budgets.
