Category Development Manager
As Category Development Manager, you contribute to an ambitious strategic plan for Biscoff and Nakd in retail in close collaboration with the Italian Sales team.
The role is responsible for providing category segment data analysis (macro & micro level) for selected retail customers for Lotus Biscoff in Sweet Biscuits & Spreads and for our Natural Foods portfolio.
This is achieved by using available data/insight sources: IRI, Gfk Customer specific insights & Lotus Bakeries' consumer/shopper research.
With this data, you help shape the Commercial Account Plans together with the sales and marketing teams.
The role creates an annual category plan consisting of advice on assortment, promotion, pricing, and shelf placement based on the above data.
The Category Manager will bring our category data alive by providing the retail team with the right dashboards and will help the sales team by building strong selling category stories, assisting in the listing and distribution of our brands.
You will contribute with marketing to a strong sales script.
In this role, you will join the sales team in visiting key customers.
The role is in close contact with our external field team to add information on the numerical distribution and price levels.
The role will also track and evaluate competitors' performance and deduce the right learnings to be applied in our plans.
A focus point in this area will be the analysis of promotional effectiveness from competition and Lotus, in order to build the strongest possible plan.
KPI Dashboard: Maintain a practical dashboard that enables the KAMs to track and evaluate Lotus performance vs competition.
Update it on a bi-monthly basis, regrouping all market data.
Distribution Analysis Report: Create & maintain a distribution report that monitors distribution over various time periods in our strategic regions and customers.
External Reporting:
Create for and present to selected retailers compelling category stories in order to bring our Lotus and Natural Foods brands further in-store in terms of category/segment/assortment placement.
Strategic Analysis:
Analysis of assortment, competition, and trends in order to make recommendations for long-term strategic planning.
Assortment overview per store and present and keep up-to-date the report on physical presence in-store.
Profile Education:
Master diploma, preferably in economics.
Professional Requirements:
Experienced (min.
10y) in retail FMCG, with a minimum of 5 years in sales/category management.
Data cruncher, with advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong conceptual skills.
Good storyteller.
Language: Fluent in written and spoken Italian, strong understanding of English (written and spoken).
