No Offer Description The analysis of metabolites, particularly lipids, in physio- and pathological conditions has benefited greatly from the progress in the framework of mass spectrometry techniques.
Starting from this context, the phospholipidomic profile will be explored in lipid extracts of cells deriving from different cultures with overexpression of pathological conditions such as cancer by comparing them with control samples.
This comparison will allow a preliminary qualitative delineation of aberrant lipids.
After preliminary screening by MALDI-MS, the researcher will develop methods based on LC-MS, including reversed-phase and/or hydrophilic-phase liquid chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry, to detect lipids and their possible modifications in extracts obtained from cells.
The compounds of interest will be recognized by applying a multistage mass spectrometry (MSn) investigation.
