**Honeywell **UOP** **is the recognized leader in developing and licensing process technology that convert oil, natural gas and renewable feeds into transportation fuels, energy and petrochemicals.
It also develops and sells catalysts, adsorbents, equipment, process plants and technical services.
We are currently seeking for a **Chemical Engineer** to join our **Honeywell **UOP** business unit in Milan initially and then you will continue your training the U. K.
Begin your career with 12 months in the Early Career Program where you will be exposed to a variety of functions including Research and Process Development, Process Engineering and/ or Technical Service.
You will gain experience in one or more of UOP's key refining and petrochemical technologies with a variety of activities that may include operating pilot plants, defining experiments, designing, troubleshooting and/ or servicing UOP process units, and performing other challenging assignments.
Following these 12 months of training Engineers will transfer to Field Operating Service (FOS).
In FOS they will travel full-time for 3-5 years on assignments to multiple locations around the world supporting UOP customers in operating plants as a process engineer and advisor.
**Position Overview/Responsibilities**:
You will work around the world as part of a Field Operating Service (FOS) team, supported by technology experts from Honeywell UOP's Technical Service Group.
FOS advisors are on-site prior, during, and after the initial start-up of UOP technologies.
The experience gained from each assignment, and the subsequent interaction with other UOP employees, provide a solid background for assessing and solving problems encountered in each situation in various locations around the world.
As advisors gain experience they have opportunities to advance to positions of increased accountability within the FOS organization.
You MUST be able to commit to travelling internationally and domestically and reside onsite for long uninterrupted periods of time (Typical assignments are four to six months but one day to one year is possible).
**Accountabilities of this position include**:
Completion of a 12 month training program designed to develop the skills needed to be Field Operating Service (FOS) technical advisor.
This includes rotational work assignments as well as structured training in safety, UOP technology, processes, and procedures as well as soft skills to prepare you for your next role.
Transfer to Field Operating Service for a duration of at least 3-5 years.
In Field Operating Service you will be on international and domestic assignments.
Some of the accountabilities are:
o Following all required safety procedures and adhering to FOS, UOP, and Honeywell policies
o Setting and meeting customer expectations
o Completing a detailed checkout of new UOP process units before initial start up to assure that the completed unit conforms to UOP specifications as contained in the Schedule A design package
o Coordinating commissioning activities and transferring technology to customers operating and engineering staff
o Providing field technical assistance and field support for UOP process units including data collection and analysis, monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting
o Advising customers on long-term routine activities, scheduling, procedures, normal operating variables, and response to emergencies and unscheduled process changes, under the guidance of the Chief Technical Advisor if available
**Basic Qualifications**:
- BEng Chemical Engineering (recent graduate)
- English and Italian B2-C2.
**Additional Qualifications**:
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally and domestically and reside onsite for long uninterrupted periods of time.
(Typical assignments are four to six months but durations of one day to one year or more are possible.
)
- Flexibility to work hours that are dictated by customer requirements and assignment scope
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong customer focus, and the ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work in a physically challenging environment
- Ability to fulfill the FOS traveling role (100% travel) for at least 3 years after the completed 12 months training.
