The Hoxton is getting ready to open its doors in Florence, capital of Italy's Tuscany region and home to some of the world's most famous masterpieces of Renaissance art, architecture and monuments.

This eye-candy city is packed with culture and is the birthplace of gelato – we did not need any persuading to make it our second home in the country.

The Hoxton in Florence will feature 161 beautiful bedrooms of varying sizes, a large ground floor restaurant, bar, lobby, rooftop and courtyard.

There is also a basement meeting and events space.

Job Description What you'll do. . .

Prepare and post daily revenues and banking documents.

Reconcile, review and submit quarterly and or monthly VAT.

Review all payments and submit for bank load and approval.

Complete bank reconciliations.

Reconcile PAYE payments to payroll software and ensure HRMC portal managed.

Manage the hotel's accounts payable and receivable functions.

Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial policies and regulations.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations.

Assist in the preparation for external audits and liaise with external auditors.

Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the hotel's assets.

Previous experience in hotels is preferred but not mandatory.

Ability to analyse P&L statements, apply timeliness and accuracy in recording and reporting.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

A hands-on, outgoing, pro-active approach; taking personal responsibility and initiative to prevent or resolve problems.

A balance between a methodical and process-driven approach and flexibility and creativity when it comes to meeting deadlines and finding solutions.

Detail-oriented.
