Hospitality Talents, a recruitment agency specialized in Hospitality profiles, is currently looking for an experienced and highly motivated Chief Engineer to join the team of our client, a prestigious hotel in Rome. The Chief Engineer will lead all aspects of property maintenance, ensuring safety, security, and optimal asset protection. This position encompasses managing budgets, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation. The Chief Engineer ensures compliance with standards, regulatory requirements, and guest/employee expectations while maximizing financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:Engineering Operations and Budget Management:Oversee property engineering performance against budget and propose proactive solutions. Manage systems such as HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical in line with SOPs. Develop and execute long-term preventative maintenance plans. Supervise construction projects ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.

Standards and Compliance:Maintain life and safety systems, including fire safety equipment and alarms. Ensure building licenses and permits are current and compliant with local regulations.

Profitability Management:Monitor payroll, heat, light, power, water, and other controllable expenses. Participate in capital expenditure planning and financial reporting.

Human Resources and Team Leadership:Foster a fair and equitable work environment. Address team issues promptly and celebrate successes. Communicate objectives and ensure alignment with departmental goals.

RequirementsExperience: Minimum of 7 years in a similar role in properties with significant rooms and meeting space. Education: Technical training in HVAC-R, Electrical, or Plumbing. Skills: Critical thinking, analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving. Languages: Fluent in English and Italian. Preferred Attributes:Proven collaborative work experience. Strong guest service mindset. International exposure.
