Role SummaryThe Chief Information Officer (CIO) plays a critical role by implementing technology strategies to drive innovation, ensure the continued growth and success of OANDA's IT infrastructure, and safeguard OANDA's business by leading all aspects of Corporate IT, Enterprise Applications, IT Service Management, Production Engineering, Data Engineering, and Information Security. The visionary and results-oriented CIO will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data and systems while establishing and driving the strategic direction of the company's technology and security posture. ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with business goals. Lead and mentor high-performing teams, hiring a management team that can build cross-geography teams with a consistent culture aligned with OANDA's values. Prepare, justify, and operate a large IT budget. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in information security, IT, and enterprise applications. Drive the adoption of innovative solutions that enhance the security, efficiency, and competitiveness of the business. Lead the data engineering team in building, maintaining, and scaling a robust and scalable data infrastructure. Oversee the management of the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and supports business objectives. Lead the design and implementation of an ITSM program to support the consistent and measured delivery of IT services. Lead the development and implementation of a robust information security program, protecting against cyber threats and data breaches. SkillsPlanning and Organizing: Ability to prioritize tasks and align with team objectives. Review and Reporting: Capable of generating reports that offer relevant insights for decision-making. Relationship Management: Ability to forge productive working relationships with stakeholders. Data Collection and Analysis: Independently monitor and analyze trends in data for informed decision-making. Leadership: Capability to manage and lead groups towards meeting objectives. Action Planning: Develop action plans based on business requirements. QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA) is preferred. 15 years of experience in IT and information security, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role. At least 4 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the financial services or online trading sectors. Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, and cybersecurity frameworks. Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
