Chief Scientific Operation Officer

Human Technopole (HT) is looking for a Chief Scientific Operation Officer that will oversee and coordinate the scientific operations of the organization, ensuring alignment with the support organizational functions and with the research centers and groups in order to meet the strategic goals of the Foundation to advance human life and technology.
This role involves leading diverse departments that support research activities, including technology transfer, training, scientific infrastructure, and funding acquisition, thereby enhancing the impact and innovation of the organization's scientific initiatives.
Key tasks and responsibilities Work as a point of reference for the Director and HT Leaders for managing the existing initiatives and identifying new areas of expansion and development opportunities to strengthen Human Technopole's international recognition in the ecosystem.
Partner with the Director to ensure full alignment between the strategic plan and the institute's research activities.
This includes supervising, coordinating and organizing the institute's technological infrastructure facilities, the Center for Innovations and Tech Transfer for Life Sciences, the areas of Tech Transfer, Scientific Training Office, Scientific partnerships, Scientific Infrastructure and Laboratory Management, Grant Office, and Library.
Represent Human Technopole in the national and international scientific community, building relationships, collaborations and partnerships with leading academic, research and industry organizations.
A highly entrepreneurial and commercial approach will be needed to strengthen Human Technopole's national and international visibility.
Support research groups' efforts to advance inter- and multi-disciplinary research to support a full spectrum of research inquiry and discovery across the sciences, building on Human Technopole's unique strengths and capabilities.
Lead and develop a high performing team, building internal capabilities to support the headcount growth in the years to come.
Draft periodic reports on the activities of the Scientific Facilities and other areas to inform the General Manager and the Board of Directors on updates regarding the ongoing activity.
Essential requirements: PhD in a scientific discipline related to the organization's focus (e. g. , Genomics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology) or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience in scientific operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Fluency in English.
Preferential requirements: Experience in budgeting and managing financial resources effectively.
Leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams.
Fluency in Italian.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
Ability to foster innovation and build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
