THE ROLE
Soho House Rome is looking for a Lead Cinema Technician to join the team: The role of the Lead Cinema Technician is to be responsible for the daily running of the screening room at the House and to ensure that all technical aspects of the House are working as required.
The Lead Cinema Technician is also responsible for ensuring clients' needs are met within the screening room and the private events spaces and satisfaction and repeat business is achieved.

To do this the Lead Projection Technician must therefore manage relationships on behalf of the House with film distributors, cinema engineers, equipment suppliers, couriers, film distribution managers.
Your day-to-day duties may include:
- General Ø To work a varied rota split over five days, not specific but as required as per the Cinema bookings and House events.
Ø To manage and operate the Cinema in all film and digital video formats.
Ø To liaise with clients regarding technical needs and assist in presentation set ups within the Cinema and events spaces in the House.
Ø To ensure Cinema's compliance with local license requirements Ø To be knowledgeable and able to assist and affect, all aspects of all building Multi-media (including sound systems, DJ decks, phone systems, IT systems as well as wireless, AV) equipment and technical specifications.
Ø To keep up with technical developments in relation to cinema and multi-media equipment, systems etc and technical training opportunities Ø In conjunction with the Cinema Manager, controls and monitors expenditure against the projected Budgets.
Ø To maintain communication with duty managers and the events team at all times to ensure the best possible client experience Projection Ø Ensure that the correct process for the receipt, presentation, preparation, repair and despatch of films is maintained.
Ø Operation, cleaning and maintenance of projection equipment, diagnose and solve problems, liaise with Service engineers and contractors as appropriate.
Ø To be able to source and hire equipment for private hires and members events, and liase with clients as to their specific needs and the costs of hiring external equipment Ø To ensure the screening room is maintained to the best possible standard at all times Ø Deployment of technical employees and preparation of duty rotas to ensure that optimum staff levels are maintained at all times.
Monitor holiday requests to prevent staff shortages and arrange rotas to cover holidays and absences.
Ø Familiarity with the Company's Health and Safety policy.
Maintain necessary safety standards and identify safety needs and hazards of the department to the Cinema Manager.
Ensure all technical employees have the required level of training for the jobs that they carry out.
Participate in all prescribed Health and Safety training.
Safeguard own health and safety and the health and safety of others who may be affected by the Lead Projection Technician's actions and omissions whilst at work.
Ø Keep abreast of technical developments in relation to cinema equipment, systems, etc and technical training opportunities.
Discuss training and development needs for technical employees with the Cinema Manager Ø Ensure effective communication between House management and House projection technicians.
Hold regular briefing sessions with projection team technicians and keep cinema management advised of any issues arising from these sessions.
Ø Manage all people issues relating to technical employee(s).
Ensure performance review and planning sessions are carried out for the Cinema Technical Team and identify training and development opportunities.
Deal with the discipline and grievance issues, in conjunction with the Cinema Manager and the P&D department.
Participates in the recruitment and selection of new technical employees.
Ø Discuss own training and development needs with the Cinema Manager and participates in performance review and planning programmes for technical employees.
**Private and Members Events** Ø To ensure all equipment specifications are as per required Ø Liaise with clients regarding their technical needs and assist in presentation set ups Ø Regular building checks to ensure that all technical equipment throughout the House is operating as necessary.
