No Offer Description The research will be focused on the enhancement of the value of waste products typical of the Italian marginalized areas, represented by residues of crops typical of the Mediterranean environment before their transformation into bioenergy. Products hitherto considered as industrial waste will be able to acquire an economic value, by recovering the biologically active molecules and allocating it to the nutraceutical industry. The recovery and the characterization of the bioactive molecules will be carried out with the development of innovative and sustainable analytical methods in agreement with the principles of the Green Analytical Chemistry. In this context, efforts will be directed to the reduction (and if possible the elimination) of organic solvents and other toxic reagents in the analytical procedure, the miniaturization and automation of the analytical method, the minimization of energy consumption, the reduction of wastes, and reuse of solvents and materials.
