Role of DepartmentThe Liberty Specialty Markets Claims department handles claims through all stages from initial notification to conclusion including; analysis of new notifications, coverage, liability and quantum, establishing and monitoring appropriate reserves and making claims payments as required.

Key ResponsibilitiesHelp achieve our vision of being a leading provider of commercial claims solutions, delivering a first-class claims handling service. Handle and resolve claims efficiently and fairly in accordance with the Claims Charter/Code of Conduct and Claims Process Guidelines. Follow applicable claims reserving philosophy and claims standards with appropriate referral. Liaise closely with relevant stakeholders throughout the life cycle of the claim, including policyholders, brokers, co-insurers, actuaries, and underwriters. Ensure compliance with best practice, service, and communication through system reporting and internal file audits. Ensure compliance with the approved Panel list including provision of direction to external lawyers and adjusters. Work with underwriters and business development managers to promote good working practices and relationships with clients. Ensure good file maintenance and record keeping. Promote the LSM Claims Charter and Code of Conduct, delivering excellence in client service. Adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements, demonstrating behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, including Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing. Skills and ExperiencePrevious Specialty Claims experience ideally within Fine Art & Specie and Casualty. Advanced knowledge of claims handling concepts, practices, procedures, and techniques, including coverage issues, product lines, marketing, IT, and product competition within the marketplace. Knowledge of law and insurance regulations in various jurisdictions. The ability to effectively interact with brokers and internal departments is essential. Strong verbal, written communication, and organization skills. Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills are also required. Willingness to mix tasks and work in a changing environment to achieve the efficient operation of the claims team. ACII qualified or working towards it. Ability to decide the complexity of claims on prescribed rules. Fluent in English and Italian.
