Client & Market Development Associate Manager
Our market leading Financial Investors practice is supported by a team of Client & Market Development (CMD) professionals who help our lawyers elevate their profile, build the practice, retain and grow relationships and pursue and win new business opportunities with clients across 6 key sectors: private equity; infrastructure; funds and asset managers; insurance; real estate; and sovereign wealth funds.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to work alongside a team of top lawyers in pursuit of highly sought-after instructions in London and across Continental Europe.
The purpose of this role is three-fold:
- Provide CMD support and help drive revenue generation programmes focussed on winning more work/pan-European and UK mandates from our PE/FI client base and new prospects. -
- Work closely with other FI and PE Business Development colleagues to ensure alignment with and support of the wider European/Global PE practice business plans and objectives. -
- Manage 1-2 global strategic PE client relationships of key importance to our European practice alongside Global Relationship Partners and core relationship teams.
What you will be responsible for- Support the development and implementation of the group's annual business plan and BD budget, with a core focus on the private equity pillar. - Work with the Head of London Private Equity to successfully communicate and implement the local strategy, including regular reporting, monitoring of progress and tracking against key KPIs. - Help the partners monitor legal/commercial developments/assets coming to market and build successful marketing campaigns around these to win business from new and existing clients. - Lead on the production of partner/client briefing notes, capability statements, pitches/RFPs, brochures, and other marketing materials. - Play a key role in the organisation of client events and conferences working with the firm's Events team and external providers as appropriate. - Lead on the preparation of the group's key UK and European directory and award submissions to maintain the group's market leading profile. - Support the partners and PR/comms team on the development and implementation of the group's publicity plan to ensure the appropriate coverage of key market, practice, deal and team developments. - Support the group on the implementation of actions and initiatives driven by the European PE Action Group calls. - Liaise with the GSC FI client teams to ensure all opportunities to develop and strengthen relationships with our London
- and Europe-based PE client contacts are fully leveraged. - Play a key internal liaison role with other practice, sector and regional teams to help the partners identify new product opportunities to cross-sell to our FI client base. - Client Development Management responsibility for a small portfolio of PE clients, including responsibility for creating the client plan and revenue objectives, researching and analysing the client's business to identify new opportunities, relationship mapping, client feedback and leading team calls to monitor progress and actions. - Support the group's client relationship, matter and secondment reviews, and ensure feedback is shared with the group/relationship teams and acted upon as appropriate. - Monitor competitor activity to gather intelligence on our market share, the relative strength of our pan-European brand and new opportunities and threats. - Support partners on internal and client facing BD and financial reports as required. - Work with the group's practice assistants and the BD PE sector coordinator to ensure partners and associates are following best practices when utilising the firm's BD systems and processes (e. g.
matter capture and league table submissions, InterAction, distribution of briefings and client communications, etc.
).
Your career experience so far
**Experience**:
- You will have experience working in the professional services sector, ideally in a transactional practice area. -
- Knowledge of one or more financial investor sectors - private equity, funds & asset managers, insurance, real estate, and sovereign wealth funds - is highly desirable. -
- Experience of client relationship management and supporting pitch activities.
**Skills**:
- You will have the ability to work on your own and take initiative; multi-task; prioritise and to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced team. -
- Attention to detail, a proactive and positive approach and determination are all required for this role.
