Job Description:ERM is seeking an ambitious and motivated Consultant with a passion for sustainability to join our Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change (CSCC) team based in Milan and help corporate and financial services sector clients to create long-term value by managing the opportunities and mitigating the risks posed by low carbon economy transition and other sustainability issues.
Our CSCC team has been established for more than five years and is widely recognized for delivering high quality and technically challenging projects across the full range of climate-related services.
Our work includes supporting clients in the development and implementation of greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and reduction targets, energy and carbon regulatory compliance, and advising on climate-related strategy and policy, including issues within both energy transition and physical risk.
The role We have a global client base, and you will be exposed to an international environment.
Your time will be split between supporting client projects and developing knowledge and assets within the field of sustainability and the low carbon economy transition.
On client projects, you will work alongside a team of professionals to help clients in the financial and corporate sectors solve challenges in the field of, but not limited to, climate change inventories and target setting, LCA studies, sustainability strategy development and execution, sustainability ambition and target setting, and sustainable finance.
Your responsibilities could include, for example: review/analyze GHG data and undertake calculations, performance evaluation, define GHG targets based on science, identify recommendations to improve sustainability performance, prepare client reports and presentations.
About you To be successful in this role you will bring:
Relevant experience in sustainability consulting / ESG strategy and roadmaps/climate change / related industry position.
Good experience and knowledge of GHG accounting and reporting principles, mechanisms, methodologies, and schemes, e. g. , GHG Protocol, SBTi, EEIO etc.
Able to proactively identify and suggest suitable methodologies for GHG inventories and target setting and articulate why they are the preferred method both internally and to clients.
Knowledge of climate change and the transition to a low carbon economy, and the key climate and ESG related regulatory, supervisory, and market (e. g. , net zero) drivers for our clients.
Experience of managing small/mid-sized projects or tasks within larger projects.
Efficient and effective project planning (managing work and deliverables).
Proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Good technical writing skills and ability to synthesize reports to a very high standard.
Fluent in Italian and English.
